Temporary entry ban extended until 31 March 2021 and amended due to Brexit
Since March, a temporary ban on entry to the EU via Sweden has been in force.
The Government today decided to extend the entry ban until 31 March 2021. At the same time, the Government has adopted a new exemption from the entry ban due to Brexit.

With immediate effect the Swedish Visa Application Centre will be available from 8:00 – 12:00 pm and Call Centre from 8:00 am – 1:30 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday until further notice. For enquiries, you can call us on the days we are open or you may email us and we will respond to you in the next business day. Please check our website for any updates.

The waiting time for repatriation flights back to Thailand extends 90 days.
Schengen Visas are valid for stays for a time period of maximum 90 days.
This means that visa applications are likely to be refused.

Submission of Schengen visa applications, effective from Wednesday 18 March 2020 (until further notice)
Due to the current situation, citizens and third country nationals residing in the Philippines, Singapore, Cambodia, and Laos have the possibility to submit Schengen visa applications at VFS Bangkok<https://www.vfsglobal.se/Thailand/> from Monday to Friday between 08.00 hrs- 12.00 hrs hours and 13.00 hrs - 15.00 hrs hours (except public holidays) or with pre-booked appointment on Fridays between 08.00 hrs - 10.00 hrs hours at the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok .

You can still apply for a visa to Sweden, however additional restrictions on entry into Sweden might be imposed in the incoming days. This, include, among other things, the possibility of medical examination on arrival and possible quarantine on arrival from high risk areas.

VFS Global (Sweden Visa Application Centre in Thailand) on 8th Floor of Trendy Building is the only authorized Visa servicing facility by the Embassy of Sweden.
VFS Global shall not be responsible/liable for any transactions that the applicant / customer has with any Travel Agents or any other third party either in the building or outside who might claim to be authorized agents for Visa servicing or for VFS Global. Any applicant shall do such transaction/s at his/her/their own risk, cost and expenses.

For applicant who had granted Schengen Visa for the past 59 months (after 2014) and would like to submit visa application by representative (who is not a family member or a cousin), the representative can submit the visa application at VFS only from 08:00 – 10:00.

Update information form Swedish Embassy
The processing time will normally be about 15 days depending on the number of applications submitted (excluding day of submission and return to VFS). However, in some cases the procedure may take considerably longer.
Non-Thai citizen who wants to apply for Schengen visa, according to the Visa Codex article 6.1, please submit your visa application in the country where you are residing (usually your home country). If applicants still want to submit their applications in Bangkok, they should be aware that the applications might be rejected or dismissed and no refund of the application fee.
